Please listen, im not trying to make a duplicate thread, but the mount was the wrong way round, i returned it to the right way, reapplied thermal paste 3 times, and still 1.25 vcore 90c on sttandard ibt, yet on a supposedly inferior cooler, i hit 75c on the same voltage, i used a correct thermal paste method, im sick of this terrible cooler, i cant wait to buy a nh d15

no brand new, yeah i agree it does seem like a pump failure or something, i wish i just bought a high end air cooler

:\ depends what you're cooling, though from your temps it sounds like an intel, in which case a high end air cool probably would have done just as good a job. on the bright side even if it's outside the vender's warranty coverage, corsair has the best warranty support in the industry. i'd give them a call.

if you need advice on a good air cooler i can give you some if you can let me know what your needs are (what cpu you're cooling, overclocks... )

i currently am using a Thermalright HR-02 Macho Rev. B, and it's easily my favorite air tower i've ever owned. (and i have used closed loop coolers as well like a h100)

yeah im after the nh d15, noctua are a great company and the nh d15 supposedly comes cloes to a h100i in terms of performance and its air so more reliability less matenance etc, the cooler i use on my other system is a be quiet dark rock pro 3, i love it. hows the performance on the thermalright cooler btw? i need all these options lol

if you're running fans at 600rpm or lower there isn't a better cpu cooler on the market then the thermalright hr02 macho rev B. it will beat down all the closed loop and high end air towers with slow quiet fans. however it gains almost no performance from higher speeds on it's fans, so if the cpu/overclock you're cooling requires more airflow then your 600rpm or lower macho, you're SOL. with a noctua NH D15 you can just turn up the fans to get better performance. an option the macho doesn't give

that said my i5-4690k temps never break 70C under any stress test even though it's overclocked. so it's a nice cooler for something that's basically soundless.
