PC only works with one stick of RAM

I've seen that a lot of posts ask this question, but I haven't seen any working answer.

Yesterday, I finished building my new PC, and when i tried to boot, nothing... So i make sure everything is plugged in right, and spend a good hour trying to figure out what is wrong until i try to boot with only on stick of ram (i'm using 2x8gb g.skill ripjaws x 2400) and voila! it boots up. So then i tried with different configurations and i saw that it only works with one stick, doesn't matter which of the two sticks, and doesn't matter what slot you put it in, but it doesn't work with two, (tried it both a1-b1 and a2-b2). Some posts recommended to enable xmp, but that didn't do it for me. So my question is, is there any setting or anything i have to do to enable double channel?
Btw, i have an asrock z97 pro 3 (which is in the list of supported motherboards on g.skill's website) and like i said above, g.skill ripjaws x 16gb (2x8) 2400.My PSU has 500w, and i don't have a GPU, so i don't think that's the problem.

Thanks in advance for reading this post :)

Solution
How about A1 and A2? If that works, what CPU cooler - if it's a third party cooler, may be too tight in a corner or side throwing the MC off, try loosening then snug down screw tight

I'll try to remove the CPU, and for the other answer, yeah, i did try every combination with the 2 sticks of ram. I am using the stock cooler that came with the processor, and none of the corners seem too tight.
Thanks for the answers btw :D

Huh, seems like I found a solution! I installed both sticks of ram next to one another and it works! I checked everywhere, and the system detects 16gb of ram (2x8gb) at the correct speed, only thing is that in some places it detects it as single channel, but I don't see any performance errors.

Sooo if you're having the same error, try to install one stick of ram in each color of slot (ex. one in gray and one in blue slot)
