Hello,
I currently just found out that I am missing 8GB of RAM from my laptop. I know that my laptop was installed with 16GB of RAM. Could this be a problem with Windows 10 or is my RAM stick faulty/broken?

Regular Specs:
Laptop Name: Dell Inspiron 5537
Edition: Windows 10 Home
Processor: Intel Core i7-4500U CPU
Installed RAM: 16.00GB (15.9GB usable)
System: 64-bit OS
(These are the specs have the 16GB RAM but right now, it only says 8GB.)

So does anyone know why this is happening and how to fix it?

EDIT: Since losing my other 8GB of RAM, my computer has been slower than normal. Especially when playing games.
Thank you in advance for the help.

Ok, after I opened the memory compartment, I found out that I only had one RAM stick. So, I believe that the RAM stick is broken or such and missing half it's full capacity. I know that I had 16GB to start with and that I am unsure what happened to the RAM.

Anyone have an answer to this?

I am unsure. I just checked my memory the other day.

I already had a pre-installed Dell Program that gave me all the info on the Memory tab.

Memory

System Memory
Total Physical Memory 8.00 GB
Maximum Supported Memory 16.00 GB
Page Files
Total Size 1.88 GB
Page File c:\pagefile.sys
Location c:\pagefile.sys
Size 1.88 GB

8192 MB DDR3 (1600 MHz)
Source SMBIOS
Memory Size 8.00 GB
Memory Type DDR3 (1600 MHz)
Memory Manufacturer Samsung
Memory Part Number M471B1G73DB0-YK0
Memory Serial Number 3755BF13

I hope this information will help. And if it doesn't, I'll use CPUZ but I decided to use something that I already had.

This is your part number Samsung 8GB PC3-12800 DDR3-1600MHz CL11 Chip Notebook Memory M471B1G73DB0-YK0 http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-PC3-12800-DDR3-1600MHz-Notebook-M471B1G73DB0-YK0/dp/B00UP6MY8U

You have installed only 8 GB, sorry, nothing is broken.

But then why am I missing half of my RAM, I know for a fact that I had 16GB installed when I bought the laptop.

This is not suppose to be public - so PM me (private message) you laptop Service Tag number, it is printed usually on the black label by white letters, somewhere on the bottom of your laptop, or you can see this in System Information.

This will tell me all your laptop specs, no private information is shown.

That is rather strange situation, because your shipping invoice states:

N2M64 2 DUAL IN-LINE MEMORY MODULE, 8GB, 1600, 2RX8, 4G, DDR3L, S

Where N2M64 is Dell part number, found here and here, 2 is number of memory sticks, so it should be 16 GB.

Did you give your laptop to anyone lately?

Lets open back panel one more time, do you see 2 slots for memory with 2 memory sticks or just one slot or just one memory stick?

Are you using laptop to type here? Or you have alternative computer or smart phone?

I don't share my laptop with anyone. I will open the panel and check the memory slots and sticks. I am currently using my laptop to type. I do have an phone which I can also use to type here.

So, either someone removed one stick without your consent or it was shipped with 1 stick by mistake, which is highly unlikely.
Story is solved, memory stick could not just evaporated into abyss.
