So, I keep having windows 8.1 give me a bsod stating "PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA (igdkmd64.sys)". This happens every time I attempt to download any drivers. It is a fresh install and I am attempting to install win 8.1 to upgrade to windows 10. I had windows 7 on it but for reasons I will not get in to (I pretended I was Jack Sparrow) I got win 8.1 a few weeks ago in preparation for win 10.

System Specs;
Motherboard: AsRock z97 Pro 4
Processor: Intel i5-4670K @3.40 GHz
Ram: (2x) Hyper X 8Gb (DDR3-1600)
Graphics card: Nvidia GeForce 770 (4GB) MSI
SSD: Samsung SSD 840 EVO 120 GB
HDD: (2x) Western Digital Blue 1TB 9WD10EZEX)
Keyboard: Corsari K70 RGB
Mouse: Logitech G502
Fan controller: NZXT Grid+

Symptoms

I receive the BSOD message after installing any driver. The bsod comes about 5-10 minutes after I first install a driver and the timespan becomes shorter and shorter between bsod's until the system bsod's on start-up and becomes nearly unusable. It doesn't matter what driver I install. I normally try for the lan driver first to try and get the most up to date drivers for the system I can, but I have noticed that it bsod's when I have installed other drivers, such as the audio driver, installed first. I have attempted to install the drivers from the disk that came with the mother board, as well the newest from the manufacturers website imported on a flash drive.

Attempted Fixes

So far I have reinstalled multiple times, using a CD at first and then using a flash drive. I can get through the install with no issues and get through the normal setup, but when I install the drivers I have maybe 3 min when installed via CD and 5-10 when installed via flash drive to do anything before it bsod's. I have run memcheck on my ram and it came back green. All components were running perfectly fine when I was running Win 7. I have run command prompt both from the desktop as well as startup repair running the command /sfc.exe/scannow; when on the desktop, prior to installing anything, the scan came back clean. When in startup repair, there were corrupted files that were fixed, only for the system to bsod again within 3 min of restart. I have managed to install some system updates once, to no avail. I have installed it on my SSD and HDD. I have removed all other usb devices. I am out of ideas and have just about run out of anything relevant I have found on google.

I have .dmp files that were from a previous install and can get more retrieved through ubuntu, but haven't found a good program to view them.

So, the first drivers I should attempt to install should be the intel drivers? I am running dual screens at the moment, one out of my 770 graphics card, and one out of my motherboard. could that be the cause of the problem?

UPDATE: I just reinstalled again. This time the first thing I attempted to download was the most recent driver for my on-board graphics. Same bsod problem.

I found the issue. My bios needed to be updated. This appears to have solved all issues i was having. A complete breakdown of what I did and the solution can be found here: https://www.reddit.com/r/techsupport/comments/3fpizq/windows_81_bsod/.

Thank you for your help!
