2x 8 pin pcie power connector plugged into the gpu?

Which version does the Bios of the motherboard have?

Check the temperatures with coretemp while a game is running.
Run furmark stress test

Which windows version? All up to date?
Uninstall NVIDIA and AMD drivers with DDU uninstaller and reinstall latest driver from amd.com

Power supply brand and model?

You, me and a lot of other people who bought the R9 300 series are having problems with the crashes. Even some in the 200 series. This is due to their latest drivers being poorly. I've even had blackscreens when reaching the desktop on Windows. Took me a while to get it working. Same for other people.

I'll guess we have to wait until they'll release new drivers which are being stable.

I started by going into safe mode and try to uninstall every driver that existed, both from control panel and by removing folders. And then used their autodetectutility to find the right driver. Which it said was 15.7.1.

However, I don't think it fixed everything for me, since I get black or white pixel stripes while playing Battlefield or GTA V.

Just as this guy:
https://youtu.be/MZnqth4CDoo

I don't get it just as much as that guy though, and they only appear when the graphic card exceeds a certain warmth. Often when it reaches 86 celcius.

Something else I found was that my games stops working for some reason when I have AMD Gaming Evolved program on.

I'm using the Corsair RM 750W 80+ Gold Modular for PSU,
The Asus Strix R9 390, which gets up to 87c when playing battlefield. (It doesn't go higher, but I could possibly get it lower by controlling the fans.)
My case should have pretty good air ventilation inside the corsair carbide air 540.
I'll take a look for some bios updates when I got the time. :) I'm not really used to navigating inside the bios. But I should be able to find updates for it. I got new computer parts less than a week ago, including the mobo and graphics card. So there should be some updates for them.

So here is my advice to you on your issues with your R9 390:

BACKGROUND INFO ABOUT MY EXPERIENCE:

The FIRST 390 I got was having these issues to a greater degree... after any restarts or extended periods of use my card would experience blackscreening. The blackscreening would become so frequent that the only solution was to replace my GPU with an older one (I used my old Nvidia GTX 760 SC 2GB) and reinstall the GFX drivers (because I could not even reach the desktop). Game crashes (while my card appeared to be working) were extremely frequent but I never experienced issues like artifacting or anything like that. Performance was still very good (most of the time). Eventually I followed the cycle of reinstalling ALL GFX drivers a second time and my computer decided that it was time to go crazy... My system would mimic the action of someone hitting the reset button whenever I tried removing the [24 hour] old AMD drivers even with my old GPU plugged in. It was at this point I took it into memoryexpress (a Canadian computer specialized retailer) to get my system diagnosed. With my current (390) card inserted my system would not post... With their [test] GPU the system post(ed) fine and made it to the login screen. They decided to simply replace my R9 390 with a new one and since that moment I have had little to NO ISSUES at all with my card. I have had VERY few driver crashes (MAYBE 2 over the course of a week or two) and ZERO artifacting while playing AAA titles at [near to] max settings.

POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS:

- RMA your card or (if you have some form of IPR plan with a website or store) swap it with a new one

- KEEP YOUR CARD BELOW 80 CELSIUS AT ALL TIMES!

The only time(s) I've experienced artifacting (I have an HIS Radeon R9 390) is during a FurkMark GPU Stress Test where I had a mixture of overclocking and heat above 83 Celsius (EMPHASIS ON THE HEAT). I have decided to use MSI Afterburner to OC my card to 5% Power Limit, 1060 MHz Core Clock, 1600 MHz Memory Clock (and a custom fan curve for more aggressive cooling) and have had 0 issues so far (mind you my card still stays below 70 Celsius).

- DO A COMPLETELY FRESH INSTALL OF GFX DRIVERS! use Guru3D's Driver Sweeper: http://www.guru3d.com/content-page/guru3d-driver-sweeper.html

- MAKE SURE YOUR GPU IS CONNECTED DIRECTLY TO YOUR PSU THRU THE RIGHT CONNECTORS (NO MOLEX TO PCI-E)

- Sincerely, iCRO4TIAN

I'm using the MSI Z97s sli krait edition for mobo, and a i5-4690k CPU.
I've borrowed one of my friends R9 290, and surprisingly. I haven't got any problems with it so far. No crashes, no blackscreens or bluescreens. I can watch youtube and twitch safely while I'm gaming.
At this moment I'm thinking, should I return my 390 and get something else? I don't really wan't to sit and wait to see if the drivers is the issue, or my GPU.

That might do the trick, but it would be such a shame if the new card would do the same as the first one. Oh well, I'll think about it. Thanks. :)

Its funny how ppl suggest to RMA immediately. This should stop your crashes. Install google chrome. Use google chrome instead of internet explorer. Turn off hardware acceleration in google chrome. Thank me later. It stopped all my crashes when I had browser windows in the background.
