I recently purchased a power line av kit and was in the process of setting up, and it didn't work, so I call technical support, but of course they jam 100 Indians into the same room so you can't hear a goddam thing. But an hour of troubleshooting goes and he comes to the conclusion that the PowerPoint where my router is (in the kitchen) and the PowerPoint where my pc is (in my room) are not connected, if I were to walk to the otherside of the kitchen they'd connect, but I can't because the router can't be placed there seeing as I only have one port in the whole house that the router is able to plug into, so what I'm trying to ask, is there anyway to make it work, or is there like a wall plug adapter thing that I can make my router plug into or something, anyhelo would be great, otherwise that's a waste of 88$

Specific model is a D-Link power line AV 500 mini starter kit

Unfortunately there are some houses powerline does not work in. Kitchen tends to be the worst place since there are lots of devices plugged into the same power (refrigerator tends to cause issues). Also some of the GFCI protection devices that are required on kitchen circuits tend to block the signals.

The power does not have to be right next to the router if you can run a ethernet cable a short distance. Many times it does not take much a outlet on the other side of the wall so if you can hide a ethernet cable between the router and the powerline device it might work.

So what would be the easiest way of hiding a cable

That greatly depends on your carpentry skills and the path the cable needs to take. Many times you can run it on top of the base board trim but doors make it harder. If it was a room with carpet there is normally a small gap under the baseboard between the wall and the edge of the carpet.
