Hello,
I have been planning to build my own custom pc and I've collected all the components I need but I've got some questions about the Vga card slot. I'm buying an MSI GTX 960 4G GDDR5 and it requires a PCI Express x16 3.0 Slot. The Motherboard I'm buying is a Gigabyte GA-H81M-S2PT Socket 1150 Motherboard because I don't have much money to get a good gaming one. After going to Gigabyte website and checking the motherboard's specs I couldn't really find if the PCI Express x16 slot is 2.0 or 3.0 so If anyone is using or have used this motherboard before can you help me?

Solution

No, all it is saying that the interface is pcie 3.0. They are backwards compatibility with 2.0.

I'm not sure because it clearly says it requires a 3.0 Slot
