GPU: NVIDIA GTX 970 (EVGA)
CPU: Intel i7-2600k
Motherboard: Asus P8P67 Pro Rev 3.1
PSU: Corsair GS700
RAM: 16 Gigabytes
I bought GTA V a couple months back and was able to play it smoothly with relatively high settings until randomly a blue screen error occurred saying there was an uncorrectable hardware error and I got the code 0x00000124.
I tried a few things to fix this, but it kept happening after only a few minutes of playing the game. Temps are fine, I ran some tests to check my ram and they came back fine. Eventually instead of just happening during GTA V this started happening when I was just using my computer for any task. Eventually I thought maybe my GPU was faulty since I had recently upgraded from 560 to a 970, so I RMAed the card and temporarily used my 560 again. While using my 560 I wasn't able to play as high demanding games, but the problems ceased and I was no longer crashing.
When I got my 970 replaced, I refrained from playing GTA V and played other things that were also quite demanding such as Witcher 3 on very high settings with no problems. Eventually i wanted to play GTA V of course, so I uninstalled it and reinstalled it to have a go, then within a few minutes it crashed again with the same error.
Right now I'm quite frustrated and have tried everything within my limited knowledge to fix this issue, but I cannot.
