Hi, I just got a new computer, and I randomly get the BSoD while I'm playing it, so far it's only been while I'm on Counter Strike. I think it might have to do with my inability to download Windows updates, which is another problem I'm having. My specs are:

CPU: i5-4690K
GPU: GTX 970 4 Gb
RAM: 16 Gb
PSU: corsair CS-650W
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate

Does anybody know how I can fix the BSoD/Windows updates failing every time I try?
Any help is very much appreciated

I'm no expert in BSOD error codes. You'd have to take that to Microsoft to see if they can give you a definitive answer.

The hard drive seems to be the issue here, unless it's drivers. Crashing only in certain conditions rules out temperature. Try reinstalling graphics drivers (using Display Driver Uninstaller), and checking for hard disk errors again.

If all else fails, have you tried a fresh Windows install? If you need to save important data, move it to an external drive (or second partition if you're comfortable with that).

I would recommend running a system scan to make sure your Windows is installed correctly. You can do this by opening a Command Prompt, and running this command:

Code:
sfc /scannow

Give it 5-10 minutes or so and it should give you the results. If it finds issues and can't fix it by itself, the only real way to wipe out this problem is to reinstall Windows :(

Also, have you checked your hard drive for errors? Here's a helpful link: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2641432

I did both of those, and I have 2 Notepad files with messages like this (lots of stuff I'm not sure what to do about):
"Cannot repair member file [l:30{15}]"oobeldr.exe.mui" of Microsoft-Windows-Setup-Component.Resources, Version = 6.1.7600.16385, pA = PROCESSOR_ARCHITECTURE_AMD64 (9), Culture = [l:10{5}]"en-US", VersionScope = 1 nonSxS, PublicKeyToken = {l:8 b:31bf3856ad364e35}, Type neutral, TypeName neutral, PublicKey neutral in the store, hash mismatch"

It just happened again though, again while I was playing Counter Strike. I would try reinstalling it, but I don't think that a game would make the computer BSoD. Here's a picture of the BSoD with the codes I get and everything

I ended up figuring it out. I had to go through the device manager to make sure that every single driver was updated. It ended up being that a single one was messed up, since I've updated that, it hasn't had a problem yet.
