Not sure if this is what's affecting it, but today I upgraded to windows 10 from 8.1. So I tested my ping on an internet speed test website - http://gyazo.com/9ebb1bbc7471e77d824ff8a9a895d693 - This is from South Wales to a London server. My internet is perfectly fine and acts like it always has when streaming/surfing the web.

But when I decide to play an online game, no matter what online game, I'm getting pings of 100+ and it cause the games to be very enar unplayable. Especially in a game of Counter Strike where you need to have a low ping to play. I have no idea what's causing this lag, but I've tried multiple things such as shutting down my wifi (I use a wire), closing anything I'm not using like a web browser and also applications. But the 100+ ping doesn't seem to want to budge..

did you have to reinstall drivers for your motherboard? Make sure they have support for current drivers for the lan card on the mobo. Otherwise if all is well with other things chalk it up to full servers

I've re-installed my drivers for my graphics card and mobo. Still the same. My internet is as it always is when on the internet/streaming. But when I go into an online game, constant 100+ ping...

You arent alone. After upgrading from 8.1 to 10, my ping went from what used to be about 40ms average in CS:GO to over 700+ making it unplayable. This is on a Lenovo Y50 Laptop with Intel's Dual Band AC 7260 wireless NIC.

The only thing that lowered it was wiping the HDD and doing a compleatly fresh install of Windows 10, latency now about 55-70ms average and frequent spikes to 130ms +. I've disabled all bandwidth eating features in Win10 such as the Xbox streamer service, P2P updates, auto connecting to contact hotspots, and even windows location. Nothing seems to bring it back to what it used to be with 8.1

At this point im unsure what to do. I've posted discussion threads on Microsoft's website, Lenovo's Community Support, Intel's Community support, TechSupport Sub Reddit, and even Steam discussions.

So far encountered over 7 others with this issue including one player I met while playing a CS:GO match who was experiencing the same issue as we both played. Out of the 7 people I met, three have the same Laptop as me. 2 of the 3 have Intel's Dual Band AC 3160 wireless card. One other has the same Dual Band AC 7260 as me.

When plugging in a cheap $25 Belkin N300 USB NIC, ping was in the 45ms - 55ms range which was A LOT more stable and acceptable. You're the first I've read saying they are experiencing the issue on LAN. This must mean the issue is caused by Windows 10 itself since so many different hardware configs are experiencing it.

Ye it's really weird.. But mines fine now. I re-re-installed all my drivers for my GPU and mobo, and for some reason fixed it..
