I AM keeping my eyes on system that has following:

1) 4 PCI E slots 1 3.0 and 3 2.0

I know we can use two GPU card but only SLI capable cards can be use as nvidia cards.!

Since I want to use Radeon R9 but I don't think it support SLI,
is there a way using those PCI express extenders so I can use multiple Radeon GPU?

I recall seeing those on lot of places on website, so I get right products having a few list would help!

If this isn't an issue with Radeon R9 then no question!.
However, some R9 doesn't need to be connected on Crossfire but some do, if there way converting SLI to crossfire then it would great know available products.

Solution

Not all motherboards support both SLI and Xfire. One may support one or the other or both, but not necessarily both if it supports one.

Be sure your motherboards supports Xfire before you do anything.

If it supports SLI it supports crossfire. Depending on the card it may need crossfire cables which are included with the card. The R9 285, 290, 290X, and the 3xx series do not require the cables and just work through the system bus. You do not need any sort of PCI extender.

Incorrect, in terms of consumer boards Crossfire merely needs 2 slots, one PCIe x16 and the other at least PCIe 2.0 x4 to work. SLI however needs a minimum of 2 x8 slots (and possibly some other requirements) so while almost all support Crossfire, only some boards support SLI. Server boards are a different story as some chipsets that end up in server boards don't support either technology (although people have gotten Crossfire to work on them)

If you look at older motherboards with the Nvidia N-Force chipset some of those are SLI only, they also haven't made those boards for 8 years.
