Whats the best h97 motherboard for the i7 4790k, i dont want to overclock, i want a motherboard that wont limit the cpu in terms of TDP or any other way in games.
Depends on your budget and what features you may need.
Though generally people use the Z97 chip set for this CPU
yep ... that's why I showed him its only a 40 dollar difference between Z97-A and H97 in an ASUS mobo
Will the asus h97 plus bottleneck the cpu, also is the audio any good on the motherboard? would the asus h97 pro or pro gamer be better choices?
H97 mobo will not bootleneck.... here is the deal. the reason for buyin a processor with a "k" at the end is for the unlocked multiplier for overclocking. Z97 boards are designed for that. H97 boards are not designed for that kind of overclocking or for overclocking at all for that matter(bios overclocking only FSB type)... so buying a 4790k is not...

You can also save some money by getting a i5-4690K or i5-4590 if you never plan to OC.
The i7 4790k is basically a overclocked i5 4690k, but i dont have to waste money on a z97 motherboard and cpu cooler and the hassle involved. plus the i7 4790k is future proof

i7 4790k and Z97-A
i7 4790 and H97
that's the gist off it
I would go with i7 4790k and a Z97-A ASUS motherboard. it gives you more to play with down the road if you want to overclock simply by changing the multiplier and voltage . its like overclocking for dummies.. I no you said you don't want to overclock, but you are asking about putting an overclocking ready chip with a non overclocking ready board..
