sounds like it was ''not'' ready what was wrong with 7 ?? I bet it worked as expected and had working support to use .

Hello... I don't see a Windows 10 driver for a 6 series... Upgrade OS and now you need to Upgrade video card... They got you back into the Upgrade cycle... B )
It is wise to First Determine your hardware and Locate the Win10 drivers for it... So you Don't have to go through a Non-working computer for a while.
NVIDIA and Microsoft are past having to provide drivers for that model now?

I still don't get this part ?? ''I was notified by microsoft win 10 is ready for me ''
so what do they do personally prepare your w10 for you ?? on some kind of waiting list to get it ?? everything I see about 10 [just like with 8] tells me ''STAY AWAY'' I really don't wand my computer to go from a personal computer to a public one .. just the forced update thing tells me you got to be nuts to accept something like that to start with [opinion]
then a lot of folks load it right up with out ever checking any compatibility out [I guess like youi now found out ] and things are just screwed up -
why would I overwrite a solid fully working os like 7 is for something like this ??? crazy
