According to PSU Tier list the Evga G2 750w (superflower) is in Tier One but on Amazon there are a lot of bad reviews, PSU died to a lot of people after first few days and even damaged HDD's and parts in the process, it seems that the SATA cables are of very bad build quality.

How reliable is the PSU tier list, how can tier one PSU have soo many bad reviews on Amazon?

I'm asking because i can get second hand 1 year old Evga g2 750w for 50% of retail price, should i go for it?

Solution
Also, people with crap experiences are more likely to write a review. You could probably quadruple the number of good units. If not more.
Talked to a retailer, he said their RMA rate was about 0.5 percent out of 1500 units.
