BSOD upon startup, have to run i7-2700k at 2.7GHz. Ideas?

CPU is 3 years old, I have been overclocking a lot in the past. CPU is running off a ASUS z77 motherboard.

After running CPU on standard clock for some time, yesterday I tried to OC. Initially I tried 4.3GHz (which I have gotten just fine before). I got the "Overclocking Failed!, only when going to default clock was I allowed to boot.

When booting W10 with standard clock I got BSOD while loading windows: WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR

When booting Ubuntu (dualboot) I got this: http://i.imgur.com/kSMemDS.jpg

I had to go all the way down to 2.7GHz to get it stable.

When 2.7GHz prime95 testing yields no faults (no BSOD, no overheating).

Any Ideas why I am able to use it at a low clock, but not standard? Anything I can do to improve the situation?

If language or phrasing is poor, ask and I will clarify. I am not a native English speaker.

Solution

In the offset put + 0.200 which should be good for 4ghz. 1.066 is very low, and we arent sure what the auto is doing

Seems like I jumped the gun there. I managed to boot just fine but I get BSOD after 0-5 minutes. Had to revert to 2.7.

I tried tinkering with the voltage, but no matter what I put in there I got BSOD after startup. I managed to run RealTemp, and the temperature was never over 40C idle (this is kinda high though, bit I don't suspect overheating).

Okay, I have a ton of projects whose deadlines are creeping up on me, so I'll just keep it at the stable 2.7GHz for now, as I don't need much power to do work and do a clean install when I have time, thx for the help :)
