Wireless router is a bit messed up; it sort of locks on to a single person and lets them have access, and nobody else.

My router (I'm honestly not sure what the model is, I'll check though. All I can sat is that it's netopia.) will only let a single person have internet access. It was working alright before; but it occasionally would boot someone off of the network and then let them back on anywhere from hours to months later. Eventually it became so that whenever someone connected, either they couldn't connect or someone else that was already on would get kicked out. The number of connections needed for this to happen slowly decreased- originally 8, then 5, then 3, and now only one. Any help?

Edit: It's a Netopia 3347wg.

Yes, I will probably be buying a new one, but I want to know what's going on..

Do you have admin rights to the router? If not, who does? Has the router's default user id and password been changed?

Could be that someone is changing/reducing the allowed IP address range, allowed number of users, or otherwise tinkering with QoS/priorities etc..

You need to take an administrative look at the current configuration.
