Hi,

I was hoping to get some assistance with this....

There was a 4 drive, Raid 5 Array that dropped 2 drives (one said it was available, and one showed as incomplete).

This morning the incomplete one does not even show up. (drives done)

The fact that 1 of the drives shows as available, means surely the information would still be on there, correct?

I have no idea how it became "available" as it was part of that Array.... i'm really hoping somehow i can save this data though.

Card is 3ware brand and has ext3/4 partitions (red hat linux). Had been contemplating trying RAID Reconstructor, and somehow get the array to see that "available" drive as part of the array.

Magnetically that info should still be on there... if the array could just recognize the drive (i've never seen one drop like that and show as available... would say degraded or incomplete drive, etc).

Thanks for any help.

--- Just an update on this ---

Tried the Knoppix Live CD that runtime provides:
http://www.runtime.org/data-recovery-live-cd.htm

I guess since the 3ware card Bios says not installed on Boot.... since the array is down... it didn't find anything (no drives, etc) when trying to use Raid Reconstructor
