Hey guys my name is Roadkillz and I've recently upgraded my rig.

My rig is now:

MSI z97 Gaming 6 USB 3.1 motherboard

Intel Core i7 4790K processor

EVGA SuperNOVA 750B1 750W PSU

Kingston HyperX Fury 16 GB @ 1600mhz

Gigabyte GTX 960 Mini ITX Overclocked 2GB GDDR5 graphics card.

Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO air cooler

The problem is my temps. I dont know if its normal but my temperatures are a little too high.

Even if it is a Core i7, running @ 40 degrees Celsius (stock speeds btw! NOTHING CHANGED) On the BIOS with no OS, seems VERY odd to me. This is a brand new processor and I followed the 212 EVO manual installation guide to the letter. I'm also using Arctic silver 5.

SO any thoughts or suggestions? Your advise/help would be very much appreciated!

Hi roadkillz, that temp is perfectly normal. What is your temps on full load?

I see that a lot of you are stating that 40C is normal. OK I'll take your word for it. the thing is that I've seen many people who idle at the low 30s with the same CPU and Cooler, I thought maybe I did something wrong.

My ambient temps are usually around 23 degrees.

I apologize

Glad we helped, if it goes over 50-60 when idle then you should worry
