Hello, i am looking for the lowest TDP GPU to pair with my under voltage/Frequency FX8320.

The main use of the system will be as server file/plex media server and remote desktop.
The main objective is to consume as less watt as possible.

PSU is CORSAIR VS350W VS Series

i have the 6950, and even at idle it use over 100 watts, that why i am asking for a better solution as i want the full system at full load consume less than 100w (no monitor or cd drives)

Not sure how drivers would affect a card that doesn't have the tech of newer cards that give the newer cards the power saving features... I mean one thing you could do is downclock your current GPU to keep the power as low as possible if you want to avoid spending the money on a card... Not sure what else you plan on doing with the gpu. But if you're just planning on hosting servers and doing basic media nothing game heavy, then buying a new card like the GT720 might be a decent option.

that article is from 2010; in recent drivers, AMD cards nearly shut off, so power consumption is very small ~20W

The gpu is only to enable to boot my system lol, i also thought of donwclock the gpu, but i dont mind spending like 50$ on a newer gpu

Its not build, but i need the 8 cores from the fx, atm it run on my athlon 5350 and when i have various users (local and remote) the server struggle to serve them

seems a very valid option for only 19w, plus i may get use from cuda cores and dx12

You are asking the impossible.

You want a system that pulls less than 100W but has a 130W CPU.
Look at Intel i7 CPUs with the "C" suffix.
Then consider no graphics card at all. And use remote desktop to work it. (You'll need one in it to setup windows etc)

it is possible, you have to lower the cpu voltage at 0.9v and frequency at 1.4ghz 2.0ghz, i use the monitor only to install the OS, i7 are very expensive, sadly i still need the GPU on the FX or it wont boot

Indeed this is perfect for my needs, maybe in future i get one, for now will go with the FX as he is just collecting dust, 8 cores 20w just great.

I go search for some reviews, and se how good it is at trans-coding media files.

Great site BTW

i'm not sure how it'll handle the same tasks. But I guess it's possible. Will it hit the same efficiency? Most likely not. But with the 8core you'll at least be able to hold it pretty well for the tasks. I'm not sure how the downclock will affect the performance overall on the server though.
