Ok, I'm gonna explain things step by step. First of all, my PC's specs:-
Dual core E2200
4GB 800mhz RAM
Nvidia GT 730 Video Card

Well, My pc is pretty old fashioned, pathetic mobo, case, PSU. But it just runs satisfactory. Last nigt, it was on sleep mode on a generator (variable electricity). The generator ran out of gas and lights started fluctuating, i mean some serious power outrage occurred. When the normal electricity came, The PC won't turn on. Knowing nearly good hardware knowledge, I tried several things, resetting CMOS, hard reset, cleaning power and reset buttons etc. the thing I discovered was that when the PC is placed straight (vertical), then no power reaches the PC, the green LED alao turns off. When the pc is layed down sideways(horizontally), it turns on and runs like normal. The base of the case (down side) carries a lot of current. Is there any earth wire thingy interferring? Please help and thanks for reading!

Solution
Tru dat.

Now that I think about it, the rig I built lasted 2.5 years before I was having a problem kinda like yours. I ended up swapping out the MB and all is well but when I installed new MB I realized that maybe some things came unplugged that shouldn't have. Pop off the cover and make sure every wire/cable has a home.

Probably the answer you are not looking for but......maybe it's time to upgrade to a newer, more modern system? Got a great forum here that can help you out with the decision making. Never know, maybe someone here is getting rid of their used but great condition rig........
