Okay guys here's my rig specs so that you can follow up as you read if you want.

Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3470 CPU @ 3.20GHz
Video Card NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750sc 1 GB vram
Memory 4 GB DDR3
MOBO gigabyte h61m-s2p
Operating System Microsoft Windows 8.1, 64-bit

Now back to my issue, I used to play bf3 on ultra settings @ 60+ fps no problems whatsoever
but then when I started to play Bf4 the gameplay became really frustrating with the fps drops and stutters everywhere. I monitored my cpu, gpu, and memory performances while playing and recognized that my cpu reaches 100 % sometimes, the memory utilizes 3 GB with 500 MB or so standby, and the vram is utilized up to 800-850 MB.

First I thought that the problem is caused by the game's poor optimization but soon after trying every BF4 fix on the internet (one fix that worked for many players was to clear the memorie's cache as you play the game and disable paging), I realized that my hardware may have been the reason of such bad gameplay. Still though I'm not sure which part of my system should I upgrade (is it the processor or the memory?) so I wanted to hear from the experts ;)

Further emphasis on how the game runs (if that's gonna help :D) it runs for the first 2-3 mins ok then it starts to stutter for a good 2-3 secs every 20 secs...unplayable of course
also sometimes the stuttering occurs frequently when the game changes maps.

Thanks in advance.

I stumbled upon this video while I was looking for a fix
he has the same video card which forces me to believe that the fix that BSOD BSTD
suggested most probably will work in my case
I'll keep you updated when I upgrade my ram

**update2**
I thought these in game graphs might help point out the issue

wow thank you for the super fast reply didn't expect this at all XD
may I ask you why do you think that the current 4 GB ram is the problem when you could've easily attributed the problem to the 1 GB VRAM.
here's my 2nd question for you, do you think that my current graphics card would be able to run the game on at least low settings?

the min VRAM required for the game is 512 MB, and you have 1GB on that card, so there is room for maneuvre, however thje lowest SDRAM req. is 4GB, so extra RAM will definitely improve the performance.

yes, your current card will definitely run the game

it is well above the minimum card required, GeForce 8800 GT

there you go
http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/8078254

I should probably notify you that I ran these tests with the FPS locked to 51
I forgot to turn off this feature off the nvidia precision app but I think it didn't drastically change the benchmark test results.

I ran the game with and without precision...pretty much tried everything even third party apps that stop background processes and clear the memory

as for the cpu temperatures, they range from 30-45 degrees....never above 50

one thing to add is that I tried playing the game on the test range mode (settings maxed out) and the game ran fine, however when i try to play multiplayer or even single player I get these stutters and fps drops.

I've got the Samsung DDR3 @ 800 MHz 4 gb of course
Do you recommend buying another 4 gb stick or upgrading to a better pair
thanks

If you can match the existing stick for stick go for it, otherwise get a 2x4GB Kit that is supported by your motherboard and sell your 4GB stick on Ebay or something, that's what I usually do.

The reason you lag and in singleplayer and multiplayer is because things are actually taking place, gun fights etc, in the test range not alot is taking place. Out of my 15 friends that play video games only 1 of them has less than 8GB Ram and that person plays non demanding games like Hearthstone. Just buy the RAM!
