Hello all,

This has been an issue before, and I was able to solve it before I upgraded from windows 8 to windows 10. At an unknown hour, my computer keeps turning itself on in the middle of the night. I had turned off all the settings to fix this previously, but there seems to maybe be an extra way that the computer is doing this.

Honestly, what I would REALLY like, is to find an option that is along the lines of "Never allow this computer to wake itself from sleep".

Any help is appreciated! I am also curious to hear if anyone else is having a similar problem.

I should probably include my build, just in case this sheds any light. http://pcpartpicker.com/user/patriche/saved/vXXp99

This has been happening to me too. I looked for power options under network and the option to toggle the network waking PC from sleep is greyed out. I could not find automatic maintenance settings either. Microsoft needs to fix this as my PC never woke itself from sleep on Windows 8.1.

Well, I am at least glad that I am not the only person who is having this problem. I would rather not have to completely shut down the computer every time. :/

Same issue here. I have a surface pro 3 and a desktop pc, the surface I updated from 8.1, on the desktop I did a clean install. Both are having trouble with sleep mode.

The surface wakes up a few seconds after I manually put it to sleep, powercfg and eventviewer give no reason (unknown). I tried disabling anything I could find that would wake it from sleep in device manager, didn't seem to help.

The desktop will not go to sleep, nor start a sreensaver (turn off screen), though all my hardware is exactly the same, I still have win7 and win8.1 on that desktop too, they both work fine in this regard. Also powercfg will say nothing is preventing my pc from going to sleep. I haven't tried unpluggin mouse keyboard yet, I just turn off my monitors when I walk away for now..

I set up Windows 10 to go to screensaver (login screen upon resume), turn off display, and sleep after 5 minutes all at the same time. Sometimes my PC will sleep and when it does not, the monitor will sleep and just resume at the login screen to prevent other people from accessing my data.

Try these commands in elevated CMD
powercfg -lastwake

Shows you what woke it up (mine was the mouse. Tried disabeling "let this device wake up the computer) but it didn't work)

powercfg -devicequery wake_armed

This shows you what is allowed to wake the computer.

I am having the same problem. My coputer wakes up from sleep mode 2 - 3 times during the night. I still haven`t read or seen any fixes for this. And it also seems kinda random who is affected by this. Extreemly wired.

Spotify seems to be a real bastard when it comes to waking it up,

Windows might be doing maintenance too:

Control Panel\System and Security\Security and Maintenance\Automatic Maintenance

But in all honesty it seems very random in deed, as it will stay sleeping for months and the suddenly it refuses to. I think Windows is just too liberal as to what software gets access to the wake locks and timers.

Oh! Ok. Thank you. I defenetly give that a try. As the hybernation mode is more stable, but still wakes up one or two times during the night. I let you know after a few days of use if I figure this out.

By the way. What my bigest problem really is. Is that the speep mode keeps reseting. So, what I have done now is look in the advanced settings under controllpanel: powerotions. Then klick of sleep mode and hybrid sleep mode. "alowed timer for reactivation" Is now set to of. And only use hybernation mode. Going to test if this works when I go to bed tonight befor I try the software abow.
