To all the older people in the PC industry, is the price of current Haswell e processors going to fall because of the release of Skylake even though Z170 1151 processors have nothing to do with the X99 LGA 2011-v3 line of processors.

Solution
My guess is no. It will however drop the price of DDR4 memory as DDR3 is phased out which should reduce some cost. The 2011-v3 is still the faster and more productive platform. Enthusiasts will still pick it until the next top tier platform is released. You cannot get a 6 core or 8 core intel chip without the X99 platform.

This is true for the most part but to create demand when they are overstocked with old supply, price will be reduced.

Also in my experience, bestbuy will match microcenter even if you do not have one close by if you call over the phone for a price match. That is how I get all my CPU;'s but YMWV.

If the price of DDR4 drops is this worth buying right now (planning on ordering it today if possible):
