I just built a new pc and for the last couple of days every time I play a game or do something demanding my pc crashes then on my monitor it says no signal. My fans proceed to go ballistic then the computer restarts. Please help I just got my pc and I don't know what to do.

Here are my specs :
Intel Core i5-4460
EVGA GTX 960 4gb
Asus B85M-G R2.0
8GB Crucial Ballistix Sport
1TB Western Digital Blue
500W EVGA PSU
Corsair 100R silent

The fans going "ballistic" for a short time is normal on a PC restart/start, its the PWM.
Check temps. If they are in order, its most likely the PSU. EVGA PSUs tend to fail often...

Go read some Amazon reviews for example. Failures all over.
If it was the PSU not being able to deliver enough power, it would react exactly like that.

But he could start changing everything in his PC to find the clue, or what are you saying? I have 25 years experience with PCs. That sounds very much like a PSU failure. Yes, it can fail so it wont turn on at all anymore, but thats rare. The most common failure is that the PSU will turn on, fans will turn, HDDs will spin up, but no picture appears and the OS is not loading.
What he describes is the classical "not enough power available" behavior, which is most likely the PSUs fault, since he said its only happening when it actually needs much more power.

I never said it wont turn on. I said that it would just cut out completely, not have fans go mad then power down.

Also, OP gets picture when he boots the PC just fine. The picture goes away when the PC "crashes".

Before replacing the PSU try a few things.
-Update to newest BIOS.
-Try games on VERY low settings and see if it crashes.

If the BIOS doesn't help, but the games run longer on lower settings it is likely the PSU.

IF that is the case, change for Antec, XFX, Seasonic, EVGA (G2,B2,GS)

Yeah of course it doesnt get a picture when it crashes, since everything is gone since there is no power and is restarting. Also if you read closely he said the fans are going mad after the crash, which is perfectly normal for PWM fans. They always go to 100% shortly at a (re)start.
But maybe the OP should confirm the exact time when they are going "ballistic".

He could also test it with the iGP instead of the GTX 960, but that wouldnt really rule out much. If it would work it could still be the PSU, because, duh, it has to deliver much less power now.

It doesnt matter if it draws 150W or 350W, if the PSU is defective. If it cant deliver enough power, it cant deliver enough power. And it would be defective because of low quality. I doubt all those reviews lie, plus I see many failures of them myself on forums and in real life.

Its not only on Amazon, check anywhere. Plus I am not lying. Why should I? If its not the PSU I will admit I was wrong. But my long experience tells me its most likely the PSU, if every cable is connected properly (24p, 4/8p and GPU 6/8p).
I mean what else do you want him to try? The only other thing that could remotely cause something like that would be the mainboard or MAYBE the graphics card, but nothing a BIOS upgrade or CMOS reset will fix and both is very unlikely.
