With the old stock cooler and good air flow, the computer started fine, could do light things with no problem (chrome, Spotify). I was able to play certain games (TF2) without any problems. Intense games caused a shutdown very quickly. Stress test causes shutdown within 30 seconds with CPU temps quickly reaching over 150F / 65C.
I installed the new Freezer 7, also with good air flow, reapplied the paste, reset the CPU (did this multiple times). Now shutdown occurs when playing the same games and in 10 sec during the stress test. CPU temps reached 185F / 85C before shutdown. So things got worse. Reinstalled 7 in case it was a software problem. No changes.

Any idea how to fix this?
Is the CPU fried anyway because it reached such high temps in the stress test?
