I am upgrading my PC for a upcoming game but can't decide what PSU I should get.

When I use a calculator I get varying answers for each one:
ASUS: 750w
eXtreme: 561w
PowerSupplyCalculator: 404w
NewEgg: 721w

Computer Specs:

CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 955

Mobo: ASUS M4N68T-M-V2

GPU: AMD Radeon R9 290

RAM: 8gb (2x4gb) DDR3 1600

HDD: 930gb HDD SCSI 7200rpm

Optical: CD-ROM

I am currently using a 500w PSU with AMD Radeon HD 6450 for a GPU and I have been told that this is not enough for a 290.

Get the same one as me, works a treat AX860I, 80Plus platinum, 92% efficient, that wouldn't be stressed out by your rig either, look on Amazon, they are £145 on Amazon.co.uk if you overclock the power supply here will let the overclock be more stable also

Great PSU. Too bad it's $200 here in the states. Not worth the money when better units are available for less.

Thanks for the help so far but I was wondering something. I might be able to get a Corsair HX750 Power Supply for 85$. Do I need it and is it much better than the 60$ mail in rebate one?

I was planning on getting my hands on the cheapest 290 I could get, since I'm already push the amount of money I have left to spend, (I don't plan on OC.) From what I have seen, a used R9 290 should be about 190$-210$
