Hi !
I have been asking quite a few question recently and I wanted to apologize because it is of course my first time building a PC and I was kinda nervous xD. But here I am at the stage of the OS and I wanted to know where can I get an activation key for windows 8.1 at low price TOTALLY LEGIT AND LEGAL. I've saw G2A selling them at incredible low price and I was wondering if it was a scam or not. If it is, may you suggest me an alternative since I am quite on a budget build.
Thanks :D

Solution
1. Many members here have gotten screwed buying from G2A and similar.
2. Microsoft does not recognize them as a legitimate reseller.
3. If you see it significantly cheaper than the major retailers (Amazon, Newegg, etc) it is probably not legit.

Ok but would there be a method for me to obtain windows via a trial or anything (just a way of accessing my computer) without the CD key at the moment ?

Accessing it for what? This is a new PC?

You could use Linux. A Linux LiveCD doesn't even have to install to the drive. Run it directly off DVD or USB. Free, and a good learning experience.
You cold get a 90 day trial of Win 10 Enterprise. Knowing that you WILL have to do a full reinstall whenever you do buy whatever you are buying.

The OS is just as much a part of a PC as is anything else. RAM, GPU, CPU, case....why was the OS not in the budget from the start?

Oh don't worry it is integrated xD It's just that I prefer to buy it directly from Microsoft or any retailer and do all the process of activation online without any cd or stuff and just now in my researches in a good deal I found G2A and asked you guys (apparently I shouldn't) but oh well I had to worry in order to get my hardwares cause they had sales finishing soon at Canada Computer

What do you mean 'it is integrated'?
But whatever you buy, you'll have to use a DVD or USB to install it.

Where to buy? Amazon, Newegg, TigerDirect...

by integrated it means I saved the money to buy my OS before getting the PC (so I had the budget) however getting a DVD would be totally pointless since I don't use an optical drive and to install windows via a flash drive I need the ISO file on the microsoft website so I pretty much just need a cd key don't I ?

Well...you can buy Windows 10 on a flash drive, but it will take a few weeks to arrive.
$119 at Amazon
http://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-Windows-Home-Flash-Drive/dp/B01019T6O0

You can download a Linux ISO, and burn that to USB

Having 'just the key' is useless. You need some sort of install media. You can't connect to Microsoft and download it without some OS to do that. You can't install Windows on a blank PC directly from online somewhere.

Oh yeah I know I am currently on my other PC and I can create a bot drive pretty easily however you just somehow made me rethink about it and I will simply go to Canada Computer, get an optical drive and buy windows to avoid headache. It looks like the simpliest solution. thanks :D
