Hello everyone,
I recently installed a Crucial mSATA MX200 500gb ssd into my Dell xps 8700. My intent was to have all my programs and OS on the ssd and everything else on the HDD (2TB). I used acronis true image as my ssd came with a code to activate it. I cloned my whole hdd onto my ssd hoping to boot up from my ssd, format the hdd and then transfer over my documents, pictures etc onto my hdd. So I initialised the disk and created a new simple volume and cloned everything across using acronis which I'm pretty sure went well however now my pc won't boot up. I've been into the BIOS and have changed the SATA from RAID to AHCI however when I go to select my ssd as my primary boot drive instead of my hdd it isn't there. After further inspection I realised that I needed to change the order of the hard drives aswell as the boot priority however both of the drives are called 'windows boot devices'. I am assuming they are both called the same since I cloned it over rather than one being called SSD. After doing all of this my PC still won't boot up. All I get is error messages saying that boot files aren't there or that it encountered a problem and would restart automatically. I have no clue why it won't work. It wouldn't even boot up off the hdd before I changed any of the BIOS settings. Is it a simple fix or am I doing something drastically wrong? My BIOS version is A10 and I'm running on windows 10. I was on windows 8.1 however I don't have the CD for it as it came pre installed. Please can someone help me fix this! If you need anymore info then please ask and thank you in advance.
