I need to overclock a lot, and I need to upgrade every year. Im not going hardline cause its too complicated for first time builders. But I already know how to build a water cooled rig.

Custom typically performs better, and quieter than AIO coolers. However, it does cost more and requires more maintenance.
If you have the budget and the time custom cooling will serve you better in terms of OCing, and system looks. In addition to that, you can add other components into the loop (Such as the GPU)

all depends on what your needs are, and if you are willing to spend the money for a custom cooled pc, all in ones are nice if you don't' want maintenance but they offer little choice for how you want to cool. Custom again is nice but if you need to upgrade every year it is a pain switching parts from a custom build and expensive to replace each year if you don't want to switch out parts and difficult if they are not compatible, but avian you don't get the same cooling from a all in one.
