Getting 1-2 second freezes every so often in most game and am not sure why...

My computer specs are more then capable of running these games and all my drivers are up to date, pls help.....

specs: i7 4790k
msi gtx 970
asus maximus hero vii
gskill trident x 8 gb

your overheating. Your gpu heats up then starts to stutter and eventually you will either have a frozen screen or it will go black and say no signal till it cools off. Find your bios's application for controlling fan speed and turning the fan speed up for my Gigabyte mobo its a graph with 1-100 degrees Celsius on the x axis and 1-100 percent fan speed on the y axis. When playing games with settings on ultra i make sure its at 90-100 percent even at low temperatures. Chances are your fan speed only gets to the right rpm to cool your card after your card has past the point where it was needed.

This is the advice I was given by a friend here. Open GPUZ and CPUZ, run your game in windowed mode if you can, if not press the windows key and check GPUZ and CPUZ. If the CPU is running right up to limits and the gpu is stable below its limits the cpu is the problem, vice versa.

=D don't want to try that. set to 90 percent fan speed to 100 percent fan speed from beginning to end of graph. if not in graph format. at 0 degree celcius have 90% fan speed and at 100 degress celcius or sooner have 100 percent fan speed. Btw fans burn out eventually but its better they do then your gpu/cpu/motherboard. That being said replacement fans are like 4 dollars to 15 dollars for quiet fans and such.

still getting the freezes even though i did what you said. Im using afterburner and it is showing the drops in "gpu usage" and i still get those drops. There is even a graph that shows it, very inconsistent. ugh this is painful.

1000 watt cooler master gold edition, no overclocking, 52 degree c while idol. Turned on after burner and increased my fan speed to 90%but am still getting drop offs.

I have a hyper 212 evo, should i get liquid cooling? talking about cpu ?
