I am interested in this MOBO while using an i5 4460, but have read there might need to be a BIOS update, is this true? If it is, any way to do so without an extra processor lying around? If it is too much of a hassel, what other MOBO will work and be worth it within the price range of 70-100 dollars if this one is not a good option?

it depend on the age of the mb and how long it been sitting in a wearhouse. the first bios is 2.0 the one needed for the cpu your looking at is 2.5. the newest bios file is 2.9 for that mb. if you email newegg pre sales supprt they should be able to read the bios lable on there mb and tell you what bios rev is on them now.
