I bought Ricoh SP 210su MFP. It refuses to work on a Linux OS(Fedora 21) based computer though. It gets detected when the USB cord is attached but refuses to work for want of proper driver. I tried all that's listed there in openprinting.org, linuxfoundation.org. to no result. Any help would be much appreciated.

When you get a car and intend to put a sky rack on the top, do you check that the car is designed with for that?

Same for printers - when you buy a printer, do you check whether it is supported by the software you are using?

You might have better success by connecting to the printer over network. USB support is tricky, and needs manufacturer's drivers, and it seems Ricoh do not provide Linux drivers.

@Alabalcho, Please give me little bit of credit for being intelligent enough to check whether the printer I am buying is compatible with Linux based OS or not! I did check that Ricoh supports Openprinting; having said that I would also admit that I did not check whether the particular model that I am buying is compatible or not(seems I generalized a bit too much?). Anyway, thanks for your concern/advice

Since you've mentioned OpenPrinting, this is the entry for your printer at their website:
Black & White laser printer, this is a Paperweight
