I don't plan on overclocking, in the near future at least, a i5 4460 along with a GTX 970 and was wondering which motherboard I should get out of ASUS® H81M-PLUS, ASUS® Z97-P or Gigabyte Z97P-D3? Also, will the extra slots and bigger size of the Z97P boards be worth it?
The case I'm using is a corsair spec 03 red led case if that helps decide what one I'm getting due to size or colour scheme (red and black favored)

The H97 motherboard is not an option as I'm getting one of the listed motherboards as a package.

Thanks for any help

Spring for the Z97 board. They have better voltage regulation for the CPU, better PCI express performance (can run SLI with 2 PCI 3.0x16 slots), more SATA and M.2 Sata. Plus you get more USB 3.0, front panel headers, and better audio. You can also overclock in the future. I like Asus because they have the AI Tweaker that does automatic CPU overclocking if you ever wanted to do that.

Sorry for the late reply! It's a tough one, but I'd go Asus simply because it's easier to overclock on it. That notwithstanding, both boards are good and I like both (MSI is still my favorite). You can't go wrong with either one.
