Hello I have a 2Wire626 gateway that I do not use anymore and was wondering if I could use it to set up a wireless network without internet. I am trying to connect two computers at church that do not have access to internet. computers are about 75-100 feet away from each other. I am trying to find a zero cost solution to network the two computers so we can easily use some presentation software. Would anyone know if this is possible with the gateway or do I need to go out and buy a plane old router not attached to a modem?

Thank you in advance for your help.

I knew I was going to forget some things. I did read about configuring it with a static IP but my problem is I can not access the device because it is looking for a DSL signal. All i get is a screen that tells me that It does not detect a DSL signal and here are some steps that might help you reconnect to the DSL phone line. So i cannot input the username and password to get into those or any settings to change them.

So my real question: is there a way to log into the device without having to connect it to a DSL phone line?
