Upgrading for a mid range or low budget pc for gaming

Solution

Upgrade is the way to go.

You need a decent 1080p graphics card and have to change the existing 300W PSU.

Your motherboard has a single PCI Express x16 (Gen2.0) slot. No need to worry about the Gen 2.0, as all Gen 3.0 graphics cards are backward compatible. Will work fine on Gen 2.0 slots, and the performance difference will be high negligible or even non-existent!

Ideal graphics card to pair with AMD A8 6500 would be:

PSU Requirement:

The R9 370 only require a 450W PSU that can deliver 17Amps or more on its +12V rail.

The GTX 960 only require a 400-430W PSU that can deliver 20Amps or more on its +12V rail.

If you don't mind "mail-in rebates", consider this quality PSU from Antec:

Power Supply: Antec Neo Eco 620W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply ($39.99 @ Newegg)
Total: $39.99

The Antec 620W quality PSU can delivery 48Amps on its +12V rail, which is more than enough.

Your existing PSU Dimensions: 150mm x 140mm x 86mm (5.9 x 5.5 x 3.4 inches)

Antec Neo Eco 620W Dimensions: 150mm x 140mm x 86mm (5.9 x 5.5 x 3.4 inches)

As you could see that the Antec has the same dimension as your older PSU. Hence would neatly fit your existing case.
