I get as far as to the motherboard menu and I can press DEL to get to the BIOS setup but nothing changes when I restore to default settings and then when I try to start it normally the screen just turns black

I've tried everything in this guide but nothing seems to help http://m.wikihow.com/Reset-Your-BIOS

I know I did those things correctly because when I booted it up it skipped the motherboard screen and went straight to a new screen that asked me to either press F1 to change BIOS settings manually or F2 to restore to default (none of which helps)

Also worth mentioning is that when I turn it off the keyboard is still lit

I've already tried that but it didn't work. I used to be able to atleast reach the windows recovery menu and but none of the options worked so I tried to reinstall the OS but it didn't work either and now it just turns black as soon as soon as I boot it so I can't try anything anymore.

Check my other thread where I go into a little more detail http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/id-2749412/error-0xc000021a-bsod-computer-boot-fixes-works.html

That's easier said than done when it boots into black screen but I'll keep your suggestion in mind for when I've fixed the black screen
