I am building a gaming computer and was wondering what kind of video card to buy. I can't afford a 2080 res screen and will probably by a monitor like this (Asus VG248QE 144Hz 24.0" Monitor). Should I go for a 980ti or a 980?

That's a duh question, 980ti if you can afford it. There is nothing better than it presently.

Edit:
But, to be honest, I'd get a higher resolution screen and save money on the GPU, also 24" seems like a very small screen?

I'm running 2560x1440p, windows no longer seems to have scaling issues and I can run all my games at max res (except for arma...) with a 970. You could always get a second 970 later on, it'll be cheaper than the 980ti

Yeah but with my budget I don't want to spend more than 300 or so on a monitor

Off topic: I've got a Strix 970 and why not, the Asus AI-shit I haven't got installed or something from somewhere else.

Hijack over...
