Hi everyone. I recently built a new desktop with 2 2.0 usb ports and 6 usb 3.0 ports (the motherboard is a Crossblade Ranger), and I am unable to use a 2.0 device in a 3.0 port. This is a problem as I have "3" 2.0 devices, none of which are working with a 3.0 port. I must choose between a mouse, keyboard, or mic to plug in. My drivers are updated so i am confused as to why it will not work. What is required for a 3.0 to work in the first place, and how do I fix this problem?

Look in the bios/uefi for compatibility related settings of usb legacy support. Tried different cable? If nothing works, you still can buy an usb splitter/adapter or whats called. Something to get 4 slots from a single slot.
