Getting 1-2 second freezes every few seconds in every game i play

Recently i upgraded my gpu from 2 gtx 480s to an msi gtx 970.
I am getting 1-2 second freezes every so often in every game i play. Whether its LoL, H1Z1, Minecraft, CSGO, i get them. I have been getting these freezes ever since i got my computer a few months ago. Got them on both gpu's. All my drivers are up to date and my specs are more than capable of running these games.

My Specs:
i-7 4790k 4ghz
Asus maximus vii
msi gtx 970
gskill trident x 8gb

I was told my gpu was overheating and to increase fan speed... didn't work

I was told to put power management performance to high..... did not work.the graph that shows gpu usage in afterburner shows the drops as well.

This has been really frustrating me for a long time, please help .

Try increase GPU power limit.


To exclude software issue:

Use this http://www.guru3d.com/content-page/guru3d-driver-sweeper.html
And follow instruction :
Use the official uninstaller(s) of the driver(s) you want to uninstall.
Reboot your PC in Safe Mode.
Run Driver Sweeper and select what to clean.
Analyse lists all the entries possible to remove, cleaning removes the entries selected.
Reboot to normal mode.
Install fresh drivers.

install this, run it sensors only

minimize it then play a game after a while close the game and open hwinfo to see temps

post back with max temps for cpu

yea sorry never replied ,i found and reinstalled every thing haven't been able to fully test but seems better so far :)

Hi my friend.
I have the same problem. There are in all games. I've tried a lot. I could not find any. I wonder if you found the solution. I need help pls :/

Im having the same issue with my card. my specs are nearly the same as above but 16gb ram.

The card was good for almost two years now i get a one second freeze across all games and even in windows. It only happens when the cards been running for a few minutes. Ive tried pumping the fan up and tried all different types of drivers. I even installed windows ten thinking that was the issue (what a mistake that was LOL).

I think the card might be cooked does anyone have any suggestions. ?
