Hi all,

I swapped my cpu out yesterday and now my pc wont boot up anymore.. it gives me a beep code. I have a gigabyte motherboard GA-MA790X-UD4 running the F3 bios(the one is needed for.my cpu)I'll link to a video where you can hear the beeps.

Im afraid i fried my mobo but i hope its just a wire thats not connected properly(first time taking an entire motherboard out)

Thanks in advance and i hope you guys can help :D

Solution

1 long 2 short means video error

check you didnt knock the card loose from the slot or unplugged a pcie cable and that the monitor is actually plugged in

also could be conductive paste dropping into the cpu pins or some such

use mx-4 non conductive for example

what thermal paste did you use to install the new cpu?

if it is conductive dropping some on the motherboard or getting some under/around the cpu will also cause this

Which cpu specifically did you install?
