Windows Explorer crashes after disabling W10 notices

to remove 'the get windows 10' app i just uninstalled KB3035583 and hid it from windows update. I used the web interface.
the procedure that you have linked seems to be doing the same thing with power shell, seems like unnecessary complication to me, but it should work the same.
I am not sure your windows explorer crash has anything...

I am not sure your windows explorer crash has anything to do with it. look in the windows event log, system log, for any events that happened around the time explorer crashed and let us know what you find.
