Hi everyone-
So I was super deluxe fortunate to be able to order all the components for my new build on Monday (night)... they started arriving on Thursday and with a few that just came in the door, the only 2 things outstanding is a Monday delivery of a WD HDD and the Windows 10 Home full/USB OS... I had planned on asking everyone if it was okay to build the system and load the OS on the SSD (as I have planned from the start) and just add the storage HDD on Monday when it comes in.... then I remembered.... I haven't got an operating system because of this stupid pre-release sale that has now set the date 3 more days into the future (from 8/11 to 8/14 even though they said "it'll be here ANY DAY NOW" before I ordered it last Monday....).
So my question is, is there anything I can do with a new build without the operating system? I am building on an ASRock Z97 OC Formula w/ an i7 if that makes a difference (Not sure if the MoBo/BIOS versions differ in feature-sets/capabilites etc.). When I had an ASUS G50VT-X5 laptop, it had this mini-"OS" built into the BIOS that let you instantly bring up a browser for the web at the push of a button, even though the laptop was off, it had this instant-on-mini-OS for web browsing outside of Windows (I believe i read it was "a Unix-based OS shell" or something like that. So I am not sure if I would have some features like that or, am I just - as they say - Schtick Outta Luck and I have to wait for the OS to install it and do anything with the build?
OK thanks much, it's my first time building in a LOOONG time so I feel like a kind of kid in a candy store but nervous about blood sugar and diabetes! Thanks again to everyone,
