Hello,
So I was wondering if I have to do anything to my hard drive when changing motherboard and processor? I am keeping the same hard drive with all of my data on it, although I do not mind losing any data. ( I mainly keep video gaming data on it, not much else...)

Any answers would be great!!
Thanks!

Many times, a motherboard swap will require a clean OS install to get a stable system. If you have to do a clean install then you will have to reinstall all applications and programs. You should backup your user data to a different device.

Thanks for your help!

If the old and new motherboards are similar, there is a decent chance that your old hard drive will be able to boot and all you would need to do would be to install new motherboard drivers.
Intel to Intel often works.
Amd to Intel is unlikely.

This might be an opportune time to convert to a SSD.
Leave your hard drive disconnected and do your windows install to the ssd.
Yes, you will get an option to format the drive and do a clean install on it.
Later, you can reconnect your hard drive and all your data files will be available.
Any apps will need to be reinstalled since you have created an empty new registry.
