Hi all, been running my rig for a while now and I have encountered issues with Intel management engine interface software being uninstallable with the error message "platform not supported" ( https://gyazo.com/db2e12184c79dc9cb5b6e787d85df8cd ) shown on install attempts and in BIOS I am greeted with N/A next to ME version. I'm led to believe that like others, my board has no ME on it anymore I cannot RMA this board unfortunately so I'm stuck with it.

I've trawled countless forums for the answer to this to no avail much to my frustration. I may just make a last ditch shot and just buy a new BIOS chip from ebay haha.

Closest solution thus-far I found on the ROG forums was this;
https://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?65993-Maximus-Hero-VII-MEI-Drivers-shown-as-N-A-in-BIOS

But this solution results in Error 26 within FTK which is apparently lock-out from the ME chip, one can supposedly access this by shorting 2 pins on the realtek audio chip but my motherboard being over-priced and flashy has that covered with a supremeFX housing, then covered some more with thermal armour, yeesh. https://gyazo.com/568bec0f705d76cb26c8c697c31c37cb

I do have the latest BIOS (currently 2801) and have flashed back and forth between others on ASUS's site in a pitiful attempt to rectify this, same for chipset drivers (although the latest appear to include ME drivers and in so doing provide the same exception) and have of course tried all variants of the ME drivers.

Running clean windows 10 Home x64 (though this issue was present in win 7 as well)
I do not believe the rest of my specs are pertinent to this issue whatsoever so I will Forgo them, If you want them though, say and I'll be happy to provide them.

Log of the Install error in case its relevant although I'm pretty sure the diagnosis is complete.

Cheers to anyone who replies to this.

Well looks like nobody cared about this thread but in case anybody else is suffering with this I'll still post the solution I found:

Welp, after I asked if I could procure a new BIOS chip from them (asked to buy it mind not for free) they sent me this: https://gyazo.com/56655893345f13e027baa2410dbcc56b

However I had already purchased the Ebay BIOS chip and it was an exact replica, make, serial number etc... and it solved all of my Intel MEI woes.

Cheers guys.

Final note haha this of course invalidated my windows 10 key, I was able to get a new key generated for me by microsoft's grace but it was 3 phone calls over skype totalling 2 hours so beware!
