Recently I upgraded to windows 10 and now there is no 5.1 surround audio and the front panel headphones do not work. My sound card is the integrated VIA VT1708S. There is only stereo output, that is only the front left and right speakers work. However, on booting with windows 8, 5.1 surround works along with front panel audio. I have installed the windows 8 64bit drivers as there are currently no Windows 10 drivers available. Also, the VIA HD VDeck does not work. I have tried several tweaks including changing sample rate, clean install of windows etc, I would be willing to provide any information if required. Any help would be appreciated. Thank You.

Yes i know, but on the developer builds of windows 10, people used to had problems with the same sound card, and most of them resolved it with a simple change in sample rate, and got full 5.1 surround audio. So, basically windows 8 64-bit drivers worked for them, but not for me. I know i must be missing something, and because of that the drivers are broken.

I also made upgrade to windows 10 x64 from windows 8.1 x64 and had exactly same problem, in that time I didn't find any solution and reverted to windows 8.1 again. Now I'm interesting does this problem still exist? I'm waiting some fix around this problem to upgrade windows 10...

Latest Windows 10 drivers are available on the official VIA website. You can download it from there. I am currently using them and they are working absolutely fine.

Dear Everybody who concerned,

On the Via Driver version "v11_1000b_08182015", the Stereomix Panel in windows 10 can be appeared, then the sound quality is not so good. If i will increase the volume, the sound will be changed "Woong~ Woong~ Woong~~~~), therefore I cannot heare the clean sound from my computer.

And in January 2016, I installed the New Via Driver "VIA_HDAud_v11_1100e_01282016 " on my computer, Then the Stereo Mix is disappeared in Windows 10, and I cannot appear the Stereo Mix on my computer. But the sound quality is very good!

I guess the Stereo Mix Problem will be solved by Microsoft only.

Thanks Everybody who concerned !!!

I also upgraded my PC to Windows 10 today. I already did this earlier last year, but then downgraded back to win8 cause of the 5.1 bug.

However, it still doesn't work for me. Neither with the Jan2016 driver nor with the one from August. This is driving me nuts!

Does anyone here have an idea for me? Board is a asus p77p55d

thank you!
