Looking to build a PC to play the newest PC games at very high settings. This is what I have so far:

CPU: i5-4690k $225
MOBO: ASRock Z97 Extreme3 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard $95
RAM: Kingston HyperX Fury Blue 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory $39
SSD: Crucial BX100 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive $79
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive $44
VCARD: MSI GeForce GTX 970 4GB Video Card $312
CASE: Phanteks Enthoo Pro ATX Full Tower Case $100
COOLER: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler $26
PSU: EVGA 850W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply $70

Total of around $990 at this point. I'd like to buy the parts within a week or so. If there're any tweaks that you recommend then I would be highly appreciative. I'd also like advice on buying a monitor, preferably under $150. Thank you.

If you could show me a build with the 6600, that'd be great!

Reason I went with the 850w is because it's incredibly cheap at the moment. Downgrading doesn't save me any money at all as far as I can see. If you could show me some cheaper alternatives, that'd be awesome.

No part preferences. I'm a complete newbie to this stuff. Is an 8gb video card necessary? Seems overkill but I could be wrong.

Thanks for helping, everyone!

the 8gb video card is better than a 970 and isn't really overkill for modern games, it will consume more power but you wont really notice that much of a difference on your real world power bill depending on how much you play, If you play for 4 hours a day on max load and keep it for 3 years, and your electricity costs 12 cents per kilowatt hour, it will cost 35-40$ more than a gtx 970 but will also improve performance by a decent bit.

The 980ti blows either of them out of the water though.

I think you should go with one of these builds if you want it to be cheaper you could remove the ssd or get an i5 4460 instead of a 390. Any questions?

Here's the basics for a skylake i5 build. You can use the other parts you chose with these-
