Hey there. Recently I've come to resetting my CMOS when I was troubleshooting a problem with my PC which is now fixed, but after doing so and installing all required drivers I randomly get FPS drops in all games that I play whether it be low end or high end.

Operating System
Windows 10 Home 64-bit

CPU
AMD FX-8350

RAM
8GB Dual-Channel DDR3

Motherboard
ASRock N68C-GS FX

Graphics
AMD 7850HD 2GB OC edition

Solution
unfortunately you cant try anything! your mobo doesnt support 125w tdp cpu. at second hw screen capture you can see 5 out of 8 cores throttling. im surprised it actually runs the cpu. you need to switch to a 970/990fx chipset based mobo before your mobo eventually fail completely!
dude, that motherboard can't run a FX8350. i mean technically can run it being that it's an AM3+ motherboard, but it's a mATX board with no heatsinks on the VRMs which are in a 3+0 power phase setup

you're probably overheating the vrms and the motherboard is throttling back the cpu as a result

Download HWMonitor, check the motherboard temps, i'd be willing to bet the cpu socket temp or the vrm temps are quite high.

I wouldn't think it'd be a temp problem seeing as I've never had the problem before untill I reset my CMOS, is there anything else that could be causing it? Anything I could try?

you might want to try uninstalling your video card drivers and fresh installing new ones. You can also download MSI Afterburner, set it to record everything, and make a log of your pc's behavior while you're gaming. that might tell us more about what's happening when your performance tanks.

yeah, i thought this as well. i didn't notice the core throttling till you pointed it out, but my first guess was the motherboard wasn't able to handle a 8 core fx cpu.

well vendors have overdone it with the vishera support on the older mobos! thats for sure! on one hand it is good to be able to give life to your old system, on the other hand it is a pity to end up with issues rather than the expected performance boost, especially on gaming builds.! sweet overclocking by the way!
