I upgraded my RAM from 4GB to 8GB i purchased the compatibe RAM. I'm running windows 10. After I swap the RAM with the newer one i get the KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE error. I tried disabling windows defender and still got the same error. i went to BIOS it's recognizing the 8GB Ram and the Processor is expandable to 8GB. I also ran a BIOS memory test with no issues.

Does the system work when you put the old RAM back?
Please provide the make and model of the old RAM, the new RAM, the motherboard, and the processor. What OS are you running, including the version (home, pro, ultimate) and number of bits (32 or 64)?

Yes when I put the old ram back the system works normaly. When i swap the new Ram I get the Kernel security check error and the laptop keeps restarting.
Laptop is HP-G62-373DX.
I have Win 10 Pro (Just upgraded to it a couple of days ago, I had Win 8.1 home) 64bit.
I'm not sure about the motherboard. The processor is an Intel Core i3 CPU M370 2.40GHZ
The old Ram 2 of 2GB 2Rx8 PC3- 10600S-999-10 F2
New Ram 2 of 4GB PC3- 10600 CL9 204 -Pin SODIMM

The Error is from Windows not the Bios . I went to the Bios which recognized the 8GB RAM I never had this issue with Win 7. I think there is a security check that windows 8 and 10 runs before loading windows and that's what's causing the issue. Any thoughts?

I was wondering if you ever solved this. I have the same problem when trying to update the ram in my HP. Tried installing one stick at a time but still did not work. Highly doubtful new ram is bad.

I just bought 2 x 4GB sticks of RAM to upgrade from 2 x 2GB and I get the same error. But it works perfectly with the old RAM. I found these two sites while checking out on Google. Will try when I can and let you guys know what happens. I'm in Windows 10 as well.

In the mean time, if anyone else knows of any other solutions, please let us know!
