I have core 2 duo E7500 2.93ghz on asus G41T MLX board. Recently i got overvoltage warning in bios. When i checked it showed vcore as 1.7v+ . Temp readings on both bios and hw monitor was 50c idle. During prime tests cpu temperature shoots from 50c to 99c :??:in 20 sec and remains at 99c. There is no option to decrease vcore in bios. Only positive increments are there. What might be the possible issues.??

The heating issue was due to thermal paste. Solved it. Now temps are back to normal. Still vcore is 1.7+ . I had my psu recently changed still vcore was high. As the cpu is not heating now , Can it be the vcore voltage sensor gone wrong?.

The bios also shows 1.8v. But i successfully overclocked cpu from . 2.9 to 3.6 Ghz , the full load temps are 70c . At stock cooler . Since temps are not increasing at this high vcore could it be faulty reading ?
