My WD external storage is not recognized by 4 different computers. Is it dead?

I'm sorry to hear about your issue with the WD external drive. Could you give us more details about your issue, though? Is the drive visible in Disk Management or Device Manager on any of those computers? I'd also recommend you to try connecting the drive with a different USB cable and see how it will get recognized then. If you manage to get it detected somewhere, I'd advise you to test the external HDD's health and SMART status by running the QUICK and EXTENDED tests from the Data LifeGuard Diagnostic tool.
